Dr. Alyssa Honda

Ok, I was way too excited to make this announcement, so here’s a bonus email newsletter this week … I couldn’t contain myself 🙂 Please read on to learn more about my physician-partner at Keānuenue Pediatrics.
Dr. Alyssa Honda is an intelligent, well-trained, warm, compassionate, and conscientious Native Hawaiain pediatrician, dedicated to the health of the whole child and family, who will be joining our team at Keānuenue Pediatrics when we open in a few months. She is accepting new patients!

In her own words.

Aloha everyone! It’s a pleasure to meet you! My name is Dr. Alyssa Honda, and I’m excited to join one of my mentors and role models, Dr. Jasmine Waipa, at Keānuenue Pediatrics, LLC.

A little bit about myself:

I was born and raised on O’ahu with two wonderful parents and 3 siblings. I am happily married to my high school sweetheart who is my rock and number one support. I am a HUGE outdoor enthusiast. When I’m not working, you can find me running, hiking, camping or back at the beach.

I graduated from Kamehameha Schools – Kapālama in 2006 and then went on to obtain my Biology degree at Santa Clara University in 2010.  I grew up on the soccer field and was fortunate to play with some of the best at SCU. Soccer taught me so many valuable life lessons!

After undergrad, I spent a year working for an AmeriCorps program called City Year where I tutored underserved children in San Jose, CA. Those 3rd graders taught me so much about life. What a humbling experience!

I then moved back home to Hawai’i and worked in health insurance for 2 years while I was applying to medical school. I attended the John A. Burns School of Medicine here in Hawai’i and graduated in 2017.

I recently completed my Pediatric Residency training at Stanford where I learned so much from my colleagues and my patients.

At Stanford, I was given opportunities to continue my passion for community engagement and advocacy. I value fighting for what’s right.

I am so excited to return home to Hawai’i where I can give back to the community that has given so much to me.

Aloha, and I look forward to meeting you and your family.
