NEW PATIENT INFORMATION
We’re excited to accept new patients and welcome you and your family to learn more about our office.
If you’re expecting a new baby or interested in transferring care, we’d love to meet you virtually to see if it’s a good fit.
Having a Baby?
Congratulations!! We’re happy to meet you prior to your delivery for a consultation.
- You can schedule here for Dr. Honda and here for Dr. Taum or call our office at 808.600.2180 or text us at 808.431.3161 to set up a time to chat virtually.
- The virtual consult will be an opportunity to ask any questions you have about the adventure ahead and get to know the provider, services we provide, and other office policies.
- We’ll be full of great advice to help you prepare for your baby’s arrival, and we’ll be sure to give you any information you need to make the best decision for your family.
If you choose us to be your child’s pediatrician and if you deliver at Kapiolani Medical Center, your pediatrician will visit you and your baby in the hospital as soon as possible after birth. The nurse at the hospital will call us to inform us of your delivery, so don’t worry about calling. We’ll be checking in on you and your baby at the hospital, helping with breastfeeding, and preparing you to take your baby home in a few short days. If you decide for your son to have a circumcision, we’ll perform that procedure before you leave the hospital too. Before heading home, we’ll schedule a time for you to come into our office, usually 2 days after hospital discharge, so we can make sure that your first few nights at home went smoothly.
If you deliver your baby at Queens, Castle, Tripler, or Kaiser, the pediatricians that work in the hospital will care for your baby, and we’ll meet you and your baby in our office about two days after you leave the hospital. Usually the hospital nurses will help you schedule an appointment with us, but you might have to call or text us on your own to make your newborn appointment.
Note: We don’t generally require a prenatal visit before accepting a newborn as a patient, but we’ll only accept babies born via homebirth whose parents contact us and meet with us virtually AND call our office within 24 hrs of delivery to schedule the first visit with a pediatrician. If you have any questions about our policies, please call or text us.
